These foods are generally started last and are good source of protein and iron. Single pureed meat should be started first. After the infant develops some teeth/coarser-textured meats may be offered.
Single egg white is known allergen/egg yolks should not be started until the infant is 6 to 12 months of age and egg white after 12 months of age. Raw eggs should not be offered to children.
Commercial combination dinners are mixtures of meat, vegetables, eggs, cereal, and pasta and or milk products. They offer advantage over the separate foods, and should not be used in early feeding in case of allergies.
