Why people got hooked with anabolic steroids?

Anabolic steroids or otherwise known as anabolic androgenic steroids were developed in the 1930s to promote growth of skeletal muscle and to develop male sexual characteristics. “Anabolic” refers to muscle building, and “androgenic” refers to increased masculine characteristics. They are used to promote cell growth, which helps the growth of tissues. Anabolic steroid is a term, which describes the process of muscle building including the bone and other tissues. However, there are side effects attached to using this kind of steroids, such as the increasing of cholesterol level, kidney and liver problems, and elevated blood pressure. Although at the same time, it has favorable effects to the user, it includes the bone marrow stimulation, growth stimulation, treatment for chronic wasting, induction of puberty, and hormone replacement therapy. It is sad to note that anabolic steroids are always on the news because of the abusive use by athletes including teens who are into sports. Most users are bodybuilders or regular gym goers who want to change their physical appearance.
